Tutoring: Easing the Path to College
Tutoring centers take an active role in preparing your child for college entrance exams, applications and more.
TuToring: hether preparing for SATs or knowing how to make your application stand out, tutors help high school students navigate the unfamiliar roads to university… and have the insider info that might mean the difference between "Congratulations, you're ccepted," and "We're sorry, but…" Today's tutors do much more than help with difficult courses, though they certainly offer that. They also help students navigate the overwhelming college application process, prepare them for admissions tests—and even find the best personal approach for each student. Confidence is critical for all students—especially during the SATs, says Rhonda Rivera of Top Tier Tutoring. "Students may know the information," she says, "but then freeze up from anxiety at the test. We teach them techniques to deal with that anxiety—and not start thinking, `Oh, this is the most important test of my life.'" Rivera says that removing anxiety and mental blocks can help students tremendously.
