But such luxuries don't come cheap, so wise consumers also want experience, convenience, and the certainty of dealing with long-standing companies. And making sure your kitchen and bath remodeling projects are as smooth as they are stunning is a 75-year tradition for Showcase Kitchen & Bath. Siblings Pat Distasio, Don Distasio, Jr., and Diane Matai, along with their father, Don Distasio, Sr., and longtime associate Vito Potenzone, own Showcase Kitchen & Bath. e Distasios' roots in the remodeling business extend back some 75 years, 45 of them at the current location. What distinguishes Showcase from its competitors? "We are truly a one-stop shop," says Don Jr. In addition to well-appointed showrooms offering an enormous range of tile, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, hardwood floors, and more, Showcase has designers and an architect on staff to help clients plan their renovations or additions. Once those plans are drawn up, Showcase has both a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber with their own teams to help the plans turn into working realities. Over the years, the Showcase team has tackled everything from simple bathroom renovations to major additions. "You can spend $10,000 or you can spend $500,000, and you'll still get the same high-quality work," Pat attests. "No job is too big or too small for us. We really respect our clients— that's one of the reasons for our longevity." It is this attention to customer service that has landed Showcase on the list of top 200 American companies—for the past 11 years in a row— by Qualified Remodelers, an influential industry publication. Showcase's clients come from far and wide: a quick glance at its website reveals beautiful kitchens, bathrooms, and additions such as porches and family rooms from all over New Jersey. Showcase also does a good deal of out-of-state business. "Many of our clients have second homes elsewhere," says Don. " ey buy their furnishings from us and work with our design team, and then have the labor done by local contractors. We've done this for clients in Vermont, the Hamptons, and even Bermuda." Many clients want to freshen rooms that feel dated. "Just like in fashion, kitchen and bathroom styles change," Don Jr. observes. For example, he notes, granite countertops have been in demand during the past decade, replacing Corian as the countertop of choice. Today, he notices a trend toward simpler kitchen designs. Once the work is done, Showcase doesn't feel its job is over, Pat notes. "We want to make sure that our clients properly maintain their new kitchen or bathroom," he says. "We found that most of them didn't have the time to read a whole manual on caring for their countertops, so we put all the information they need up on our website. It's an easy, central location." When it comes to creating beautiful kitchens, bathrooms and more, Showcase is more than qualified.
