Inside Essex By Sean Carlson Montclair Home Gets Starring Role he popular new lifestyle show "LX New York" filmed an entire live episode at the Upper Montclair home of the Jaquet family on Aubrey Road. e Jaquets received the royal treatment, with a stunning makeover of the master bedroom—and a fresh new look for husband and dad Michael. e episode, which aired on Oct. 19, also showcased the town, including an interview with Mayor Jerry Fried and a performance from the Hillside Elementary School's Drums of under. And host Maria Sansone profiled Raymond's—a favorite restaurant of the Jaquet family, and winner of Best Brunch in Suburban Essex Magazine's Best of Essex Readers' Choice Awards 2009. e Jaquets enjoyed their moments of fame—but are even happier about life in Montclair. "We originally moved here because it was on the train line to New York," says Michael Jaquet. "But we fell in love with Montclair's diversity." "LX New York," which airs at 5pm weekdays on NBC, features fast-paced, witty segments by hosts Sara Gore, Siafra Lewis, and Michael Flocker. Yet when Panico Salon & Spa chose its corporate stance— "Making a contribution to other people's lives"—it was referring to charity. And Panico of West Caldwell, which won Suburban Essex Magazine's Readers' Choice Award as Best Salon, lives up to its motto in style. For more than a decade, Panico has sponsored the Angels of Hope Gala to benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. is year's gala featured a chance to meet Derek Jeter or win a walk-on role on "As the World Turns." Panico contributed an additional $3,000 from its earlier Cut-a- on. In all, the gala raised more than $175,000. "Anybody can give back, and we feel strongly about doing our part," says Jack Pani- Jack Panico (left), actress Martha Byrne co, salon owner.
